Congratulations on getting Phillips Zoom in chair teeth whitening treatment. Please follow the below instructions carefully:

• Avoid brushing your teeth immediately after your in-chair whitening treatment. Rinse your teeth out with water following a whitening treatment if necessary.
• During and after teeth whitening, the whitening agent may cause temporary sensitivity. A relief gel has been provided to you to use in case of any sensitivity. Please leave it on for 30 minutes application.
• Please take an anti-inflammatory pain medication after the treatment should you experience any lingering sensitivity. Medication like Advil and Ibuprofen are usually recommended, doses up to 600mg. If severe tooth sensitivity persists for more than 48 hours following a whitening procedure, please contact us immediately.
• After your in-chair whitening treatment, avoid drinks that are either too hot or too cold, to avoid any lingering sensitivity in your teeth. Take food and drinks at room temperature, avoid drinking any carbonated beverages or eating any acidic foods for first 24-48 hours.
• It is recommended to maintain a white diet for the first 24-48 hours, avoid food that may contain some colouring agents like pasta sauces, curries, drinks like tea, coffee and red wine to prevent staining on teeth in first 24-48 hours.
• Maintaining a good oral hygiene is important to maintain your teeth whitening results for a long time. It is recommended to use a soft toothbrush and a toothpaste that contains fluoride. Fluoride helps to remineralize the teeth and decrease sensitivity.
• If you are using whitening products such as toothpaste and bleaching strips everyday your teeth are more likely to experience sensitivity. Try giving your teeth a break from whitening treatments for at least a day, to give them time to recover. This recovery time is very important for your teeth and can make a significant difference to the level of sensitivity you experience.
