Congratulations on getting your clear aligners. Please follow the below instructions carefully:
- Please brush and floss your teeth before you start wearing your clear aligners. You should brush and floss after each meal or snack prior to re-inserting your aligners. If you don’t have access to a toothbrush, you can simply rinse your mouth thoroughly and then clean the aligners by running them under tap water. It is not the best way, but it works when you are in a hurry. Aligners should be cleaned properly at your earliest convenience.
- Please wear your clear aligners as directed by your dentist. Always use the chewie provided to you to ensure that your clear aligners are fully seated on your teeth. Failure to wear the aligners for the prescribed number of hours per day and/or not using the clear aligners as directed by your dentist can lengthen the treatment time and affect the ability to achieve the desired results.
- Aligners should be removed for eating and drinking (except for cool water).
- When you remove your clear aligners for a meal or a drink or oral hygiene, please place them in the case provided to you. This will reduce the risk of losing your clear aligners. Always store aligners in a cool and dry place.
- Always clean your clear aligners when you clean your teeth. Avoid using denture cleaners to clean aligners. Avoid soaking them in a mouthwash. These products can damage the surface of the aligner, causing it to become dull and more visible. Avoid using hot water and harsh chemicals to clean your clear aligners. Please use a soft tooth brush and tap water to clean your clear aligners.
- Keep aligners out of reach of young children or pets.
- You may experience some dental tenderness, or soft tissue irritation following initial aligner placement and after switching to each new aligner in the series. This is expected, however if it stops you from wearing your clear aligners, please notify us immediately.
- If you lose any attachment, please contact us immediately to replace the lost or broken attachment.
- In case you experience any jaw pain or headache after wearing clear aligners, please take over the counter pain medication and inform your dentist.
